I Write Your Name is the third Jim Carroll Band album and features a smoother, more produced sound. Jim's edge and narrative strength are still evident and the band has been expanded with Lenny Kaye on guitar.
The album features a creditable cover of "Sweet Jane" and a strong set of songs. The standout is the haunting ballad "Dance the Night Away", as with his other two albums, highly recommended by Vinyl History
